Angelina Expands!

Angelina Jolie is green in so many different ways. Here she’s seen in a beautiful green dress while pregnant with baby Shiloh. Before getting pregnant she had adopted 3 children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara. She’s taking the “green” she has and sharing to make those three special children’s lives exponentially better than they would have been. Since this pregnancy she has added two more children, Knox, and Vivienne, bringing her family up to 6. She loves her family and since she has the means to support them it’s great she’s doing it. Jolie is also considering adopting a child from Haiti after doing a lot of work to help support the after effects of the earthquake not long ago.

She decided on helping these children when she first saw conditions in Cambodia while filming Tomb Raider in 2001. Jolie was named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador on August 27, 2001. In 2005, Jolie took part at a National Press Club luncheon, where she announced the founding of the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, an organization that provides free legal-aid to asylum-seeking children with no legal representation which Jolie personally funded with a donation of $500,000 for its first two years.

Throughout all of these endeavors, Jolie has been making more green in movies to support all of her work outside the movies. Not only does making movies rake in the green, but her PR people work very hard to keep her in the news and magazines. Taking a look at People Magazine she’s mentioned four times in the past week. Her people really know how to keep the buzz up about her which impacts her celebrity immensely.

Jessica Biel Climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro

Jessica Biel recently climbed Mt. Kilim-anjaro, a 19,340 foot mountain in Africa, in hopes to raise awareness of the worldwide need for clean water.

The trek up Africa's tallest mountain took Biel, and a few other group members, six days to reach the peak. To get to the top of Kilimanjaro the group members had to hike through blizzard conditions. The temperature at the top was zero degrees, and from so much snow they could only see two feet in front of them. When Biel reached the top she cried at the thought of her accomplishment.

Not only did they experience extreme weather, but group members suffered from altitude sickness and exhaustion.

Biel and her group members also experienced life with the locals while hiking up the mountain; such as helping villagers purify their water.

To inform people that more than a billion people are without clean water the actresses climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro was documented. "This is a basic human necessity that needs to be addressed now," Biel said in a statement. Biel wants to "raise awareness toward the life-threatening clean water crisis happening not only in Africa but around the world."

This documentary will be aired on March 14 at 9 p.m. on MTV.

What's Sheryl Crow's Secret?

As we all know, everything we do these days should be “going green.” Sheryl Crow knows that it is no secret that we need to know more about toxic chemicals and the repercussions that can come from them. The best advantage that we have now is the knowledge of what is harmful to our environment.

Knowing what is best for our environment gives us the instruction to save the commodities for everyone today and Healthy Child Healthy World, a website dedicated to raising babies without harming them or the earth have some promising tips that anyone with a baby should take into consideration.

The website has five main ideas like getting rid of pests responsibly. Non Toxic = Better- Try to avoid harsh cleaners inside your home. Being indoors doesn’t necessarily mean better air. Some households can have so many toxins that being indoors isn’t any better than being outside. Eat more organic foods, the way to think about it is, where did that pop tart grow? And avoid plastic!

“Let's leave the Earth a better place than we found it; if you see something wrong, you can change it through action or education. Yet as we get older, we stop believing what we're saying. Kids, on the other hand, are motivated not just by what's in their head but by what they actually see, like a baby polar bear. Kids are so acutely aware and smart; they will be the ones to motivate us, their parents, to change." – Sheryl Crow

Going Green is Safer... Isn't It?

Celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Will Ferrell, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres, Ewan McGregor , Brad Pitt, and many more own a variety of different hybrid cars. They are trying to do their part in raising awareness about keeping the environment clean.

According to InStyle Adrian Grenier doesn’t want people to confuse him with his cocky Entourage character Vince. "We're different because he drives a Hummer and I drive a Prius," Grenier has said. "I've been trying to get the writers to have Vince have a revolution about the environment, but it doesn't fit the character quite yet. Maybe next year." The actor is so dedicated to green causes that he won the 2008 Blue Sky Award for Environmental Activism at this year's Vail Film Festival.

Being a celebrity comes with responsibility. These celebrities understand that having the opportunity to influence people is something they should do to help the earth. By owning a Pruis, these celebrities are influencing people to take a look at their own lives and start contributing to saving the earth instead of killing it.

However, Toyota isn’t making it easy. Just this past week Toyota began another recall on this popular car. According to the New York Times, Toyota is recalling the 2010 Prius due to a brake problem. Toyota has been having a lot of difficulty with recalls on popular models and the recent recall on Prius will not help the company. “Toyota’s president, Akio Toyoda, apologized for the recent recalls at a press conference on Friday and said the company would cooperate fully with the U.S. authorities on the matter.”
